Forecasting and Reservoir Management for Foz do Areia Reservoir on Rio IguaÇu
To asses the feasibility and expected benefits of improved operational management of the waters of Rio IguaÇu in Southern Brazil, a prototype forecast-control system was designed, implemented and tested for the Foz Do Areia reservoir. Strong collaboration during all the phases of this project was maintained between COPEL Staff, the Water Resources Management Group of the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Staff of the Hydrologic Research Center.
